The Scholastic Community Outreach Program (SCOP) was founded in early 2010 to help Illinois scholastic bowl teams with limited resources or funding develop and maintain strong participation in the Illinois scholastic bowl community.
SCOP connects novice teams with mentor schools who provide them with valuable resources to help them perform competitively. Mentor schools work with teams to deliver study materials, team workshops, and discounts at tournaments around the state. We hope to simultaneously increase the already thriving scholastic bowl circuit in Illinois and expand the academic opportunities of students through healthy, intellectual competition and interaction with peers.
